Troubleshooting Quickbooks won’t Open Problem

QuickBooks won’t open company file issue is a general QBs error and you can rectify all such problems easily. Just follow the methods below.      

1.    Quickbooks Uninstallation and Reinstallation

  • Within the Start menu, type in ‘Control Panel’ and tap Enter.
  • Navigate  to Add/Remove Programs.
  • Now, access QuickBooks and click on Uninstall.  
  • After the uninstallation process, you need to restart the PC.
  • Now, re-install QuickBooks again from the exe file. 
  • Click on the exe file and follow all the coming instructions on the screen and click on Finish.
  • The won’t open QuickBooks issue may no longer exist.

1.    System Restart

The easiest and one of the quickest solutions for removing any issues, problems, and bugs in the system is through a System Restart.  After the successful reboot, you will not face all these errors once again as it self-troubleshoots it.

2.    System Compatibility with the Latest Updated Release

3.    Closing the QBW32.exe process

  • First, use the Alt + Shift + Delete keys to access the task manager.
  • Now, navigate to the tab Process and go to the option Image Name for arranging the processes alphabetically.
  • Click on Exe.
  • At last, use the option of End Process and it will switch off the exe processes.

4.    Switch Back Files to Windows Desktop

  • The first step is to right-click on the QBs company file.
  • Select the option Copy and open the software QuickBooks.
  • Now, click on Paste and rename your file.
  • Access QuickBooks and then reach out to the File menu.
  • Tap on Restore Company.
  • Choose the recently pasted QBs company file and you can easily open your company file.
  • If you cannot open your company file now, switch back the files to its original default location and rename them.

5.    Check the Company File Properties

  • Open Windows Explorer.
  • Choose the option named Properties by doing a right-click on the company file.
  • Now, navigate to the tab of Advanced and check that the file size must be greater than 7 MB, and not be compressed and encrypted.

6.    Access the Company File from a Different Location

  • Under the C Drive, create a folder.
  • Now, open the company folder.
  • Look out for the company file and choose the.TLG (transaction log) of the company file.
  • Select the option Copy by doing a right-click on your company file.
  • Click on the created folder under Drive C and paste the files under this folder.
  • You can now access the company file from a different directory location.
